I think it’s generally a good novel but I’d compare it more to a thriller than literary fiction. It’s more driven by plot than beautiful prose but it avoids most of the pitfalls that bring down science fiction.

Hah, yeah. I was talking to my brother about this book on Saturday and he also made that connection for the first time. There’s a part in the book about him crying when Wallace was killed off and the other actors comforting him by telling him he’d get other roles. It’s pretty delightful.
